We’re still working the the full version of the documentary. We decided to shoot some additional interviews to make the documentary more complete. Hopefully it will be finished within a few months.
Check this out! made this in 2005
Been working on a promo film for MTV the past few weeks. MTV is trying to get more youth into the theaters so they’ve been co-producing several plays over the last couple of years. I got hired to direct a promo/trailer for their latest play and make it snapping and attractive for the pop culture target group. While doing the Color Correction on my FCP set at home, my cameraman Erwan dropped by to help out. I just love what we accomplished with this shot of Birgit Schuurman (Dutch singer/actress). Am lovin’ those colors man!
I love shooting little promo (backstage) films for Balmain Hair. Not only do you have the nice styling, beautiful models and the photo shoot dynamics, but there’s always a good atmosphere. nice people that is.
This time around I had ages to finish this backstage edit… so I took my time and went online to find new Final Cut Pro plugin packages for new looks and filters! and man! did I geek out! I think I have this thing for horizontal lens flares, I don’t know what is! “the more flares the better!!!! raaahh!!!”. I’ll upload the film to my showreel page soon so you can see the final “geeked out” product, but here are a view still images of the film, after I totally filtered the shit out of them!!
cool huh? :-p
Ok… so as I said in an earlier post that I had this Damien Rice song haunting me for the last 2 months and it started to really bug me, so apparently it must have been a sign! “I must free myself from this curse for once and for all!”, I said. So then came another “TalentShow” that my singing school organizes twice a year. This talent show gives singers the chance to sing solos. I thought, “Yes! this is my chance!!!” “muuahaha!!”. I found a karaoke version online of Blower’s Daughter, which is a beautiful instrumental version I must say, and I performed it in front of an audience filled with music teachers and other fellow singing pupils. The good thing about this is that the audience is always super duper quiet. perfect for a ballad… though of course,… I was nervous…and I sang a bit off key
… but oh well, at least I did it.
I know, I know… haven’t been posting much on the blog here. I’ll tell you though the reason why! .. and I can summon it up in 1 simple word…. Facebook!
Facebook took over dudes and dudettes! There I can post my pictures receive cool comments and I know everyone is reading my stuff… well not everyone… I mean…. like …at least a lot of friends.
Though the cool thing about this blog, is that it’s all MINE! muuhaha! I see no one else here! no adds! no other posts bleh! … ok enough said … made my point.
I’ve been having this song in my head for the last few weeks now … gets me in a melancholy mood ![]()
You guys might know the song from the soundtrack of “Closer” (cool movie), Damien Rice’s “Blowers Daughter”. Found an acoustic version on YouTube check it out:
Am working on an edit for Balmain Hair at the moment. It’s a backstage compilation video of a photo shoot about hair extension. Anyway at one point my frame freezed to this still! Totally awesome! It looks like some modern art painting! A must also note that this still was taken from Camera B reel - Rutger gets the credit
